Donna has always had a love for the arts from a very early age and her career began in a very unorthodox manner. Flying for a major airline for 13 years, Donna met a casting director on a flight to Minneapolis, who liked her look and invited her to audition for a film being shot in Atlanta. Donna didn’t get the part but a new career began. Not being one to want to look like she didn’t know what she was doing, she immediately began studying at the Strasberg institute. Landing her first theatre role in “The Boy King” really planted a seed and the need to act. She quickly began to develop a reputation for outstanding work, which helped her take chances in pursuing the role of Gloria in Sy-Fy’s “Frankenfish ” which landed her a co-starring role. She has also played opposite accomplished actors such as  Callie Thorne in “Necessary Roughness,  Vivica Fox in “3 Can Play That Game”, Nate Parker and Ricky Schroder in “Blood Done Sign My Name”. Other guest starring roles include,  Rectify”, “The Rickey Smiley Show”, “House Of Payne”, My Manny”, and “Meet The Browns”. Other roles on the small screen include:  Nashville, Drop Dead Diva, Gillian In Georgia, and Army Wives, Ruth, Oraph Winfrey's "Greenleafand "Hidden Figures" appearing alone side Taraji P. Henson

Auditioning on Skype for director Francis Lawrence landed Donna a role in “Hunger Games Mockingjay 1” while working on “StarCrossed," in a recurring role. Co-starring in “Sacrament was a first at playing an actual person in the  story of Jim Jones. Other film credits include: Fundamental Of A Caregiver, My Child Is Missing, Mississippi Damned, Daddy’s Little Girl, The Gospel, Pandora’s Box, and Trois. Horror movies became one of her favorites when working on "Conjure" and "The Birds". Donna can recently be seen in  "Ruth",  "Revised Fundamentals of Cargiving", starring Paul Rudd and Tell Me Your Name, Confirmation starring Kerry Washington, A Meyers Christmas, Comeback Dad and Not Again. Donna can be seen in Kevin Harts "Night School" and "The Beach House" starring Andie MacDowell in 2018.

For Donna theatre is the very best training ground. Her careeer has span from off Broadway to regional theatre at the Tony Award winning Alliance Theatre. Donna can be found once a month as one of  the facilitators of "The Practice", an acting envirnoment geared towards helping actors prepare for film and television work. It's called "The Practice" for a reason, actors simply receive sides, come prepared and practice in front of a camera.
